A couple of thoughts about mediation and money

I’ll need to revise my last post about finding the right lawyer. I thought of another warning sign – any lawyer who pushes for closed mediation to deal with parental alienation (or therapist or advisor of any sort, for that matter). That is proof to you that s/he just doesn’t get it. Run, don’t walk, away! Closed mediation with an alienator can only hurt you.  Open mediation may be of positive benefit in some situations ; closed mediation – not just useless, but destructive to your goal of preventing or undoing alienation. More about mediation later.

The issue of money and self-representation is also crying to be addressed. Many of us will end up representing ourselves, or may have to do so from the beginning. I am just starting to investigate this seriously myself, and have research to do.

Another post about working with your lawyer is coming next, and then back to using the legal system to fight alienation.

About Claire Brett-Moran

I am an alienated parent; heartbroken about the damage done, angry and frustrated at the injustice, curious and fascinated by the unfolding mystery, eager to help make things better. In order to protect my children I will not post any details about my identity at this time, but you can contact me if you want to know more.
